The problem behind the problem

Most asset failures are discovered after the asset has already stopped

Industrial organisations are under increasing pressure to reduce downtime, improve productivity, optimise asset performance, and meet growing safety, compliance, and sustainability obligations. Traditional maintenance and monitoring approaches are often reactive, fragmented, and reliant on limited operational visibility.

Legacy SCADA, PLC, and telemetry systems remain critical for operational control, but they were not designed to support large-scale, low-power sensing across thousands of distributed assets.

Without real-time visibility into asset health and operational performance, organisations face

Unplanned downtime and production losses

Increased maintenance and operational costs

Reduced asset life and reliability

Higher safety and environmental risks

Limited predictive maintenance capability

Delayed operational decision-making

As infrastructure becomes more connected and operational complexity increases, organisations require real-time operational intelligence, predictive analytics, and scalable industrial IoT platforms.

What is Smart Asset Management?

Smart Asset Management (SAM) is a modern, data-driven approach to monitoring, maintaining, and optimising physical assets throughout their lifecycle. By combining digitisation including IoT sensors, AI-powered analytics, automation, and real-time telemetry, organisations can move from reactive maintenance to predictive and preventive asset management strategies.

Using industrial-grade sensing technologies, SAM provides continuous visibility into the health, performance, and operational efficiency of critical infrastructure and equipment. Real-time alerts and automated workflows enable engineering and maintenance teams to identify issues early, reduce downtime, minimise operational risk, and prevent costly asset failures before they occur.

Smart Asset Management can be applied across a wide range of fixed and mobile assets, including pumps, pipelines, meters, tanks, conveyor systems, machinery, utilities infrastructure, and industrial equipment. Monitoring capabilities can include vibration, pressure, flow, temperature, valve status, water quality, corrosion, levels, and asset tracking and telematics.

At its core, SAM integrates connected sensors, communications networks, analytics platforms, and intelligent control systems to deliver actionable operational insights and automation.

The goal is not simply greater visibility. It is autonomous, real-time decision-making that improves reliability, operational performance, safety, sustainability, and long-term asset value.

Built to monitor every asset you run

Asset intelligence can be applied across a broad range of fixed and mobile assets, providing real-time visibility, predictive insights and operational intelligence. Typical applications include:

Predictive maintenance

Detect emerging equipment faults before failure using vibration, temperature, pressure, current and runtime monitoring of motors, pumps, compressors, conveyors, fans, robotics and other rotating equipment. Predictive analytics help reduce unplanned downtime, extend asset life and optimise maintenance schedules.

Remote asset monitoring

Continuously monitor distributed and difficult-to-access assets such as pipelines, reservoirs, tanks, valves, generators, substations, electrical infrastructure and utility networks, reducing the need for routine site inspections while improving operational visibility.

Condition-based monitoring

Replace time-based maintenance with data-driven maintenance by monitoring equipment condition, including vibration, corrosion, structural integrity, battery health, lubrication, pressure, temperature and other critical performance indicators.

Smart buildings and facilities management

Optimise building performance through monitoring of HVAC systems, heat pumps, lifts, pumps, electrical systems, occupancy, indoor environmental quality, water consumption and energy usage to improve operational efficiency, occupant comfort and maintenance outcomes.

Asset tracking and utilisation

Track the location, movement and utilisation of high-value mobile assets, vehicles and equipment using GPS and LoRaWAN technologies. Maintenance activities can be scheduled based on actual operating hours and utilisation rather than fixed service intervals.

Smart water and energy management

Improve resource efficiency through digital water and energy metering, leak detection, voltage and current monitoring, sub-metering and utility consumption analytics to reduce operating costs and identify inefficiencies.

Environmental and sustainability management

Monitor environmental conditions and support ESG objectives through flood and water-level monitoring, water quality sensing, air quality and dust monitoring, emissions tracking, corrosion detection and environmental compliance reporting.

Global steel manufacturer

We are delivering a large-scale industrial IoT and digital asset monitoring program across steel manufacturing and port operations throughout Australia, New Zealand, and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Thousands of industrial-grade vibration sensors are being deployed across critical assets including motors, drives, hydraulic systems, conveyors, and autonomous robotics to enable predictive maintenance and improve operational reliability. The initial pilot deployment delivered exceptional operational outcomes, preventing more than 50 process interruptions and avoiding approximately 1,950 hours of unplanned downtime using just 300 deployed sensors. Following the success of the pilot, the program has now transitioned into full-scale deployment, with thousands of additional vibration, pressure, temperature, and level sensors being rolled out across the company's manufacturing and logistics operations to support enterprise-wide operational intelligence and predictive maintenance strategies.

Major Australian water utility

We deployed a private, region-wide LoRaWAN network designed to support up to 200,000 connected sensors for sewer monitoring, flood sensing, remote asset telemetry, and digital water management applications. The network backbone is using managed IP67-rated gateways which have been strategically placed across assets using our in-house RF planning and network design expertise.
